The County of Riverside and Express Scripts have teamed up to provide you with your workers’ compensation prescription drug program.

Express Scripts (ESI) is one of the nation's leading full-service pharmacy benefit management companies. ESI coordinates the distribution of outpatient pharmaceuticals through a combination of benefit management services, including retail drug card programs, Home Delivery services, formulary management programs and other clinical management programs.

ESI is happy to help you get the workers’ compensation pharmacy coverage you need. If you are new to the prescription drug program, you should be receiving a welcome packet shortly – keep your eye out for an envelope from Express Scripts. This packet is important because it includes details about your coverage, as well as your prescription drug ID card. Once you get your card, you can take it with you to retail pharmacies to start filling your workers’ compensation prescriptions. Of course, if you need to get a prescription before your card arrives or if you have any questions about the pharmacies in your network, ESI can help.

First Fill Program – The Express Scripts’ First Fill program is designed to ensure that workers’ compensation prescriptions are filled without delay and ensure prompt claims handling.  First Fill is a proven program that allows a 14-day supply of injured workers’ medications to be filled prior to claim liability acceptance. Please print the First Fill Form provided on this site to take with you to the pharmacy to process your prescriptions.
