Mission Statement

The greatest resource of any organization is its employees. Our goal is to ensure continued service to you, the community, by doing all we can to keep our work force healthy and on the job.

Workers' Compensation Services

Workers' Compensation is a State mandated benefit designed to be a no fault system providing benefits and assistance to all workers who are injured or who develop a job-related illness as a result of their employment.

The County has Self-Insured and Self-Administered the Workers' Compensation program since 1971. Claims, losses and costs are paid directly by the County of Riverside, not an insurance company. County personnel, who are highly trained in Workers' Compensation laws and procedures, administer the Workers' Compensation program. Self-insurance is a cost effective alternative to an insured program. Self-administering the claims gives the County greater control and quality in claims management.

    Benefits may include:

    • Medical Costs
    • Temporary Disability
    • Permanent Disability
    • Vocational Rehabilitation
    • Death Benefits

It is the goal of the Workers' Compensation Division to:

    • Ensure that employees who are injured or become ill on the job receive appropriate medical attention and treatment.
    • Return employees who have disabling injuries to full or modified work as soon as their medical conditions permit.
    • Prevent abuse and fraud

To report suspected fraud or abuse, send an email to [email protected].
